Frequently Asked Questions
What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is a practical self-defence and combat system originally developed for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). For over 70 years, it has been trusted by military and security personnel worldwide, making it the longest-standing modern CQB (Close Quarters Battle) system.
Why should I learn Krav Maga?
Krav Maga builds confidence, improves fitness, and teaches the skills needed to protect yourself and your loved ones from real-world threats.
Am I too old or unfit?
Not at all. Classes are designed for all ages and fitness levels. Many of our students start with no prior experience — some well into their fifties and sixties.
Will I get hurt?
Training is as realistic as safety allows. Minor bruises can happen, but serious injuries are rare thanks to our controlled, professional environment.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No commitment is required for your free trial. If you choose to continue, we recommend a minimum of three months to fully experience the benefits of Krav Maga training.
Do I need insurance or a licence?
Yes. After your free trial, all students must hold a valid training licence. You can purchase yours here.
What should I wear?
Comfortable workout clothing suitable for physical activity. Most members wear our branded t-shirts, available through the club. Don’t forget a bottle of water.
Are there competitions?
No. Krav Maga is not a sport — it’s a self-defence system focused on real-world effectiveness, not competition.
Is Krav Maga suitable for women?
Absolutely. Krav Maga teaches effective techniques that rely on leverage and strategy, not strength, making it ideal for women seeking practical self-defence skills.
Can children learn Krav Maga?
Yes. Our junior and teen classes help children build confidence, learn self-defence, stay active, and make new friends in a fun, supportive environment.
